A Neuro-Physiologist and Elite Performance Coach, Chris Wiegand is the Director of the World Paddlesport Foundation and American Paddlesport Foundation. Chris utilizes his knowledge and expertise with neuro motor pathway redevelopment and his vast interactive knowledge of nero-muscular diseases such as Muscular Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, and Amyiotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS/ Lou Gherig Disease) to help provide meaningful and active theaputics through sports.
After years of watching passive rehabilitation for patients suffering from these muscular diseases and post tramatic disabilities, he wanted more than what the hospital could do to assist them. Through education of the disease/disability process and helping the patient become more aware of their greatest potential we identify a way of treatment that is only for that person abilities. Chris prides upon helping create the clients greatest weakness and help turn it into their greatest strength.
His active neuro-spinal methods of training allow for those suffering from post-tramatic spinal/brain injury, muscular atrophy, and paralysis a great rehabilitation and life quality where they had not originally believed they could achieve. Through this method of sequential spinal utilization, issues such as muscle spacticity and atrophy caused from the trauma or disease is lessened by help recreate muscle flexibility, new circulatory pathways developed and greater range of motion established by utilizing greater awareness of skelatal movement by non muscular forces. This is also great for people suffering from Fibromyalgia.

Renee Osterdock
Pediatric Neuro Surgeon and Founder of Arete Neurosurgical, PC Renee Osterdock helps through her love for whitewater kayaking and outdoor sports create opportunities to assist in creating the surgical and spasticity medical pathway for our members. Renee is a world renowned neuro surgeon who has been fatured on network television for her surgical techniques for spina bifida and neuro surgery.
Renee is a seasoned triathlete, climber, kayaker and outdoor adventurer who, like Chris understands that limits and constraints that our minds and some clinicians put on those with disabilities often make dealing with a disability even more difficult. Chris and Renee help our clients become more educated in their disability and help create a personal accountability in their rehabilitation, knowing that first and foremost that a quality of life is paramount in the recovery or slowing of the neuro-muscular disease.
